The server should have at least a few players (or more) that play. The server should be casual and PVE. Would prefer it on Exiled Lands since I know that map well. I've done a lot of google searching and Conan server list browsing and almost all the popular PVE servers are AOC. Yes, definitely test all the weapons. Lots of people have different opinions on weapons, the most important thing, is that you just have fun. In 3.0 it depends on your character build. There is no longer “a best weapon” like there was in 2.8 and prior. for pve, 2hand swords,katanas,2 hand maces, and 1hand axe imo.Daggers are the meta agility weapon. Shortswords are also good for PVE. 9/10 you’re gonna be outnumbered. And anyone worth their salt in PvP could make very quick work of you with a strength build. But truthfully just can’t be afraid of losing kits. Make a few and go out and practice. Spear players are cancer and not fun to fight. If left at the normal multiplier, it will be set at what it is on official servers and you would have to be in game for 20 or more hours just to break a T4 thrall. I make mine instant. Same goes for pets and creatures taming timers.
I have a character on a pve-c with no base damage but pvp during the evenings. So during day time hours I get the 5 encumbrance to farm infinite materials. During night time I pvp with 4 str 4 vit and only 1 in encumbrance none in survival. You could write a novel on stats armor and server types. Its all preferences.
